Someone has threatened to blow up Luna, the lonely killer whale who took up residence in Nootka Sound back in 2001. RCMP in Gold River are investigating an upset boater who told reporters there are ways to make the orca leave Nootka Sound and that Luna would stay away if he was dynamited. Luna has been repeatedly bashing boats, tipping float planes and frustrating fishermen. Concern is growing that someone fueled with alcohol, bravado or anger might try to harm the whale. Local aboriginal groups believe Luna is their chief, reincarnated.
